１０月の新作は久しぶりのソロになりそうです。
ミュージシャンは一緒に舞台に上がるのですが、ダンサーは僕一人という感じで。緊張するなあ！！！しかも３０分。長い。観ている方も辛いと。僕だったらいやですね。見に行くの。（笑）
ナノで、必死に悩んで今作品作りをしています。絶っっっっっっっ対に面白くなるように。
あと、眠りの森の美女をやるのですが、ブルーバード初挑戦です。これも辛い（笑）
しかし、チビの僕には避けて通れない道なのです。頑張ります。

The new piece will most likely be a solo. Haven't done it in a while. I hope I can last for 30 min. That's a long solo!! I wouldn't want to watch it myself! lol
That's why, I will have to make it good and entertaining for sure! My creativity is working on full throttle these days.
And, I will be dancing Blue Bird in The Sleeping Beauty this october as well.
First time in my life. This is hard too.......
But, as a short ballet dancer, this is an unavoidable challenge.
Working hard, is the theme of this half of the year.

さて、新作の曲のデモが出来上がってきました。
今回は地元の若いミュージシャンとのコラボで、実際彼らにも舞台に上がって演奏してもらう、という物。小さい劇場での密な公演となるので、楽しみです。
最近、元同級生を発見しました。小学生の時に一緒だったトクマルシューゴ君が今や世界的なミュージシャンとして活躍中だとか。僕もすぐにアルバムを聴いてみました。素晴らしい！！今は毎日のように聞いています。いつか彼の曲で作りたいなあ、と思いつつ、今回の舞台も作ろうと。

The Demo of the music of our new piece is here!!
I am collaborating with a local Musician this time, so the Music will be a world premier, and We will be sharing the stage as well!!
Very exciting. I'm used to choreograph on classical music, so I'm hoping this will open up new doors. The venue is nice and intimate, so that should be a real different experience than usual.
I just rediscovered a old classmate of mine. Shugo Tokumaru, who was in the same class with me in Elementary school, is now a world famous musician!! So I checked out the album, and I'm blown away. I can't go without his music for a day in my life right now. I'm hoping I will get to work with him sometime in the near future.

八月半ばだと言うのに，こちらでは１０度代の気温が続いています。
日本ではウォーミングアップ無しでガンガン動いていたこの体が，あまりの温度差に硬い，硬い！！入念にストレッチをしないと思う様に動いてくれません。かといって，サウナの様な日本の稽古場も考えものですが。（笑）
東京から帰って来てから家の寝室とバスルームの模様替えをしました。新しい家具を入れて，壁の色を塗り替えただけですが，かなりの印象の差にビックリです。お試しあれ！！

It is cooooold over here in Calgary. 10c in mid-August. There is something wrong with this picture. I remember the days in Tokyo, where i didn't have to warm up at all, thanks to the hot weather. Here, I have to stretch very thoroughly to get my body moving. Not that I like the sauna-like temperature in japanese studios either. lol

また今日から新しいシーズンの始まりです。
眠い頭に鞭打って出勤したいと思います。
１０月の新作、どんな物になるやら、音楽が書き下ろしで、まだ聞いた事がないので想像がつきません。しかし、僕と同年代のグループが書いているのでかなり期待はしています。最近とは打って変わって今回は小劇場での公演。実験的な事が出来そうで楽しみです。

「戦慄」，無事に千秋楽を迎える事が出来ました。
この２週間半，とても充実した日々でした。チームとして一丸となって頑張り，時には厳しく，時には笑い。ダンサー達から多くの事を学びました。この場を借りてスタッフ，出演者の方々皆に「ありがとうございました」と言わせて下さい。
そして，見に来て下さったお客樣方にも御礼を申し上げます。
明日カルガリーに帰ります。１０月にはまた新作があるので，それに向けてもう発進しています。よろしくお願いします。

All 3 shows are done. Bit of relief, bit of sadness.
What a great 2 and a half week this was!! Some hard times, and some fun moments we shared as a team was really a treasure. I would like to thank every staff and casts, Thank you very much.
And to all the people who came to watch the show, I thank you all as well.
I'll be flying back to Calgary tomorrow, and start working on a new piece that's coming up in October. Phew!! what a lucky man I am.

無事に「戦慄」初日、開けました。
来て下さった方々，ありがとうございました。
何回やっても自分の作品の初日は慣れませんね。緊張しっぱなし。
でも，チーム「戦慄」，一丸となって素晴らしい舞台が作れたと思います。
後二回，頑張りましょう！！

今日は赤坂歌舞伎を見に行って参りました。
いやあ，やはり面白い。１幕と２幕で人情物と舞踊とでしたが，どうしてなかなか，エンターテインメントとして完成されているなあ，と。
この経験がどう作品に反映するか，楽しみです。

quite the entertainment!! The first act was more of a play, and the second act was a dance.
I'm curious how this experience will influence the piece.

デリバリーワークショップ全行程、無事に終了致しました。
皆様、ありがとうございました。僕らの方もとても勉強になりましたし、参加してくれた人達も何か目の色が変わって帰って行ったように思えました。
これからも出来るだけ続けて行きたいと思っていますので、次もぜひ参加して下さい。
さて、次は新作。眠れない日々が続いています。
七つの大罪がユーモアあふれる、芝居的な作品だったので、今回のはもう少し抽象的で暗い（笑）作品になるかと。

Can't sleep with all the thinking. The seven deadly sins was a very humorous, theater-like piece, so this will probably become more abstract and dark!! I think.

この度、急にですがK−バレエに新作を発表する事が決まりました。
今年はワークショップに専念すると思っていた矢先の嬉しい悲鳴です。日本のバレエ団に振り付けるのは初めてなので，乞うご期待！です。
内容はもう少し固まってから少しずつつぶやいて行くつもりですので，お楽しみに。

Here I was thinking I will be focusing the workshop. Busy, busy, busy!!

来る１０月１７、１８日とカルガリーで新作を発表する事が決まりました。
Fluid Festivalというアートフェスティバルで、毎年カルガリーで開催されています。２年前に少しだけ参加したのが、今年は３０分程の作品を劇場で上演する事に。
プロのミュージシャンと生演奏でコラボ、というのがプロデューサーの意向。楽しみで、休みだというのにもう頭は創作ムードです。（笑）

I got a gig for the next season! I will be creating/performing a 30 minute piece in October 17 and 18th as a part of the Fluid Festival in Calgary. It will be a collaboration with a musician, who will be playing live on stage along with the dancers. How exciting!!!!

バレエ教室での小中高校生の「5日間ＷＳ」。
熊本では基礎〜中級のクラスを始め、園児や大人初心者のためのクラスとバレエからコンテンポラリーのクラスまであります。

I've been sick since the last show of the Seven Deadly Sins. I guess it was mentally challenging. But, off to the new piece. I have to say I'm totally out of shape. Sore muscles everyday! But it's nice to be back on the other side as well.

七つの大罪楽日以降風邪で寝込んでいました。やはり振付けはかなり体にくるようで。しかし、もうそれも治り、今週からは次の作品まっしぐら！です。しかし、体がなまっている事は否めず、毎日筋肉痛が・・・しかし、ダンサーに戻るのも楽しい物ですね。

エドモントンでも大成功！！の「七つの大罪」でした。
少し演出に手を加え、演技の方ももう少し奥深く、と気を使っての今回。
いつか再演する機会があれば是非もっと深めて行けそうな予感がします。さすがワイルとブレヒト。奥が深い。
明日で楽。寂しいです。

We made few changes and were able to analyze a little bit deeper in the acting department.
If we ever do this show again, I feel we could make it better each time, thanks to Weil and Brecht.
Tomorrow is the last show. Bitter sweet feeling arises.......

The seven deadly sins opened last night.
Thanks to all the dancers, designers and staff, the show went well and we had a great success!!!!!!!!

今日はとうとうオケ、歌手、ビデオ、衣装、装置、ダンサー揃っての舞台稽古です。
４０分の作品にしてはもの凄い情報量で、まだ不安でいっぱい。
でも、もう一踏ん張りすれば笑って泣ける一大エンターテインメントになる事間違い無し！！乞うご期待！！

先週いっぱいはずっと七つの大罪のリハーサル。
もう本番間近だと言うのにリハーサルをせず新しい振りを付けたり、変更したりと大忙し。
何をやっているのだか。（笑）
おかげで金曜日は頭痛が止まらず。時間が無い！！！とブルーになる事もしばしば。
しかし、雨振って地固まる。週末に頭を冷やして少しまとまりました。
後２週間で劇場入り。鬼演出家になる時期が来た様です。
We have been rehearsing The seven deadly sins all week.
Although I should be working on things, I keep adding or changing things. When are we gonna rehearse?!?!?!
That caused some stress, and gave me a headache all day on friday.
So I calmed myself down and thought through what's needed and where to compromise.
2 weeks 'till theater week. I might have to turn in to a Tyrant!!

Here we go. From tomorrow on, it's crunch time for the piece.
I'm really excited for the piece, because I think this type of performing art is my significant style. Hybrid of different types of art, while respecting all the aspects of each individual art.
The art of play is where I feel at home. This is what I grew up with, this is my roots. I'm specialized in dance, but my core is a theater person.
This is what defines me as a creator. Please come and watch the show!

さて、これから本番開けるまで七つの大罪一筋です！！
この作品には特別な思いが込められている気がします。複数のジャンルを統合しつつ、個々のジャンルの旨味を凝縮する、というスタイルがはっきりと出来てきた感じがするのですね。これがクリエーターとしての私だ、という光がはっきりと見えてきた感じ。役者に囲まれて育ち、芝居を見て育ってきた私は、やはり芝居をルーツとした舞台が一番なじむ。ダンスを専門とした、芝居演出家。これが私のクリエーターとしての有るべき姿。．．．．．なのかな？

少しプランを変更いたします。
前に少し話したと思いますが、デリバリー(配達式)ワークショップと言うのにチャレンジしてみたいと。
個人、もしくは団体のニーズに合わせてプログラムをその都度組み、短期間でも長期間でも良いので指導する、と言う物です。
ダンスレッスンでも、振り付けでも、ただ体を動かすのでも結構です。皆さんの生活に踊りを少しでも組み込めれば嬉しいので、よろしくお願いします。

開会式、踊って参りました！
５万５千人の前で踊るのは初めてでしたが、基本的には一人の前でも、大勢の前でも同じ、と言う事が身を以て体感出来たのは貴重な体験でした。
舞台裏でアスリートにエールを送れたのには僕も仲間のダンサー達も大興奮！！皆で「日本、チャチャチャ」を大合唱して式場に送り出しました。わざわざ外国人にも教えて一緒に叫んでもらったりもして（笑）。
そんなお祭り騒ぎの中でも、ジョージアの国の人達が行進した時は舞台裏の空気も一変して真剣に。とても不幸な事故でした。僕も涙を流さずにはいられず、もっと辛い気持ちの中でそれでも行進したジョージア選手団には頭が下がる思いです。
これからオリンピックは僕の人生の中で特別な意味を持つイベントになるでしょう。開会式はもう二度と見逃せないぞ、これは（汗）。
何千人、何万人と言うボランティアとスタッフで成り立っているこの舞台。どれだけの血と汗がつぎ込まれているかを知りました。
参加出来た事に感謝します。
各国選手の皆さん、頑張って下さい！！

Here it is. winter.
20cm. the rehearsal was cancelled. perfect prelude to a white christmas.
but we have 15 shows of the Nutcracker this month. Hallelujah!!
Hope I can take this much holiday joy.
So, this summer, I am thinking of doing more teaching. Communicate with the future of the world of dance. Since I don't live in Japan, I'm thinking of doing a "Delivery coach service". I will go wherever I am needed and teach/coach dance when i"m back home in Japan for 2 month.
Tubular bells rehearsal starts tomorrow. Exciting!!

とうとう本格的な冬です。
２０センチ積もりました。リハーサルも半日でキャンセル。ホワイトクリスマスに向けて完璧な前奏曲ですね。
今月はそれに加えてくるみの公演が１５回。こんなにクリスマス漬けで僕は果たして正気でいられるのでしょうか？、、、、
今夏は公演ではなく、教えをもう少し勉強したいと思っています。未来の芸術家とコミュニケートをしようと。
日本には住んでいないので、普通に講師としてではなく、帰国している２ヶ月間だけ「デリバリー講師」をしようと思っています。
今週からチュービュラーベルスのリハが始まります。楽しみ！！

昨日くるみツアーの第一都市、ヴィクトリアから帰省。驚いた事にカルガリーは大雪です。今日買い物の帰りにスリップして危うく事故るところでした。
くるみツアーはさておき、チュービュラー・ベルスまで後少し。バレエ団が主催ではないので、過酷なスケジュールのもと新しいキャストを稽古しなければなりません。そろそろ具体的に何処を改良するか考え、準備をしないと、です。２年前の記憶を吹き飛ばすような公演にするためにはどうするか。実際ふたを開けてみなければ分かりませんが、四苦八苦はしておこうと思います。

Back from Victoria, there is a blizzard in Calgary. I almost had an accident slipping on the street on the way back from the grocery store.
Anyway, Tubular Bells is starting soon. We have to put together in such short time, I better have a concrete plan ready before we start rehearsing. We have to blow away the memory the audience have from 2 years ago, which is very difficult. Who knows how it's going to be, but I have try, in order not to regret.

今日は友達を家に呼んでホームパーティーをしました。
簡単に巻き寿司が作れるアイテムを使って３０本ほど、朝の９時から巻きました。
それに加えてわさび軍艦巻きを三貫、罰ゲーム用に用意！！
みんなでボードゲームをして、負けたチームは食べなければいけない、という過酷なルールのもと、白熱したゲームをしました。（笑）
明日からまじめに仕事をまた始めます。

We had a Birthday party at our house today.
I made 30 sushi rolls from 9am for this event. But the main event was the WASABI rolls!! We played a game, and the losing team had to eat the WASABI roll. What a challenge that was! I think I sweat a little.
Yes, I will start working seriously again from tomorrow on.

もう冬ですね。こちらはかなり寒い。
ロミジュリはおかげさまで成功と言える結果を残せたと思います。一段落。来週またエドモントンでやります。
来週はハロウィーン。どんな衣装に身を包むか、悩みますねえ。

The winter is here, I think. It seems pretty cold.

the snow has stopped, and warm breeze has come back to the city.
Romeo and Juliet is being performed this weekend. I have lots of concern these days, but have to solve one by one, step by step.
first off, Mercutio.

I did have too much turkey, though. And it is already -10˚c outside!! Crazy.

昨日、今冬最初の雪が降りました。
ちょっとビックリはしたものの、カナダに住んでいれば当然か、と観念。
色々先週から考えて、人々に踊りの面白さを伝えるにはやはり学校を作るのが本当の意味でのコミニュケーションでは、と思い始めた。
誰でも踊れる、と口では言っていてもそうではないプロの踊りの世界。この広い世界と短い人生の中、スケールが小さすぎる。それを広げるにはどうしたら良いか。それを皆と考えたい。

First snow of this winter fell today.
I was surprised at first, but then realized, that I live in Canada. lol
We did a little bit of thinking and talking since last week.
We realized, to really touch people's heart and share the joy of the dancing, making a school and teach anybody who wants to dance is the best way to do it.
The world of professional dancing is so down scaled and narrow minded, I want to figure out how to make it develop further with a help of the people i work with.

なぜ踊っているのか考えろ
とある人に言われた。最近絶えず考えている事ではある。
こうやって色々な人のサポートで踊っているにも関わらず、ちゃんとコミュニティに還元出来ているのだろうか？未来のダンサー達に貢献出来ているのだろうか？
例えば、解り合う為に踊っている、と考える。
劇場に見に来れない人、劇場と日常が結びつかない人、こういう人達とも触れ合うべきなのでは無いだろうか？
芸は人の生活を少しでも彩る為にあると思う。楽しい時はホロっとさせる様な一瞬を、悲しい時には笑顔がこぼれる様な瞬間を。
こちらからアプローチして行けないだろうか？押し売りにはならない様に気をつける必要性はあるが、特に子供達とは共有したい。

Think why you are dancing
someone told me the other day. It is something I've been thinking about lately.
I'm able to dance with lots of support from lots of people. I wonder if I am giving back what I'm receiving? Wonder if I'm passing on to the next generation?
Let's say we dance to communicate.
Shouldn't we approach people who is unable to come to the theater? Or who's life does not cross with theater at all?
I believe Art exists to make life worth living. Something to tear you up in good times, something to make you smile in bad times.
I'd love to approach from our side without getting pushy, especially with children.

になった記念に小旅行へ行ってきました。
車で３時間程南へ行ったWatertonという街です。
鹿が公道を平気中押して歩いている様な山村。とてものどかで心が洗われました。
何と，ヤギの群れにも遭遇！これは珍しいですよ。
何だか山の神様に祝福された感じになりました。
今年もよろしくお願いします。

今日プロトタイプが完成しました。
これから拙いところを直し，後はリハーサルです。
この作業の方が実は大変だったりする。あーでもない，こーでもないと、考えようと思えばずっと悩んでいられるので。
まあ，３月末まで時間はたっぷりあるので悩み抜きたいと思います。

七つの大罪振り付け一週目が終わりました。
結構ヘトヘトですが，楽しくて疲れを感じません！
ダンサーも楽しんでくれているみたいでとても良い環境です。
後残りもちゃんと準備をしてこのムードを保ちたいです。
その為にも今日はロッキーマウンテンに行っておいしい空気を吸ってきます。

七つの大罪振り付け開始まで後一週間。
衣装コンセプトも固まりつつあり，ワクワクです。
キャスティングも発表されたので，ダンサー達もどの衣装を着るの、と聞いてきます。
８月１７日から一ヶ月。頑張ります！

３D全公演，終わりましたああああ！
皆様，ご足労ありがとうございました。これからもよろしくお願いします。
スタッフ、出演者，関係者の皆様に心から感謝しています。
ワークショップも短すぎましたがこれからもやって行きたいと思わせる結果でした。
また近い将来日本で何かやりたいので，これからも応援して下さい。
さあ，明日帰国。帰ったら七つの大罪とTubular Bells一直線です。
